授業の概要 Organizational Behavior (OB) refers to the behavior of people within an organization. The field of OB mainly focuses on work organizations. Throughout your career, you will rely on others, be relied upon, and take on leadership roles to accomplish tasks, goals, and projects.

By gaining a deeper understanding of the human aspects of management, you will be able to make better use of the skills you are learning in other courses.

This course focuses on OB at three levels: individual, interpersonal, and group. Topics covered include personality, decision-making, motivation, interpersonal relationships, influence and persuasion, and team effectiveness.
学修目標 The main objectives of this course are as follows:

1. Enhance knowledge of OB concepts to understand and analyze how organizations and the people within them function.

2. Develop leadership, management, and collaboration skills by providing opportunities to apply OB concepts to real-world problems.

3. Support career growth and development by introducing effective learning strategies and encouraging the active application of course concepts to foster self-directed skill development

4. Contribute to building a diverse and inclusive learning community and apply that experience in business.

Chapter 6: Interpersonal Relationships 2
内容
As an extension of Emotional Intelligence, we continue to examine persuasion and influence strategies. In organizations, relying solely on authority or power has limitations, and simply following others' instructions may not lead to the desired outcomes. This section explores how to effectively use influence and persuasion to drive projects and initiatives in the desired direction.

The final section explores the relationship between generosity (Give and Take) and long-term career success.

受講上の留意点 Please attend the course according to the university’s official schedule without any delays.

Online discussions will be held (this corresponds to "posts" mentioned in the grading criteria). Further details will be provided in the course.

There will be one in-person class. Please check the schedule in advance in the "In-Person Class Schedule" and attend if possible.
成績評価基準 Posts: 25%
Since this is an online course, posting is one of the key components for improving learning outcomes. In Organizational Behavior, your active participation greatly contributes to the quality of learning. Grading for posts will focus more on quality than quantity. You do not need to post multiple times each week to earn a high score. However, your grade will be low if you do not post at all. Meaningful posts, in particular, meet the following criteria:

- Thought-provoking questions
- Describing real-life examples related to the course material
- Providing constructive comments or questions on previous posts to deepen the discussion or understanding

Assignments: 75%
Please describe situations as specifically as possible and accurately reflect the course content in your responses. However, you are not required to agree with all the theories and concepts presented. If your response offers a fresh, specific, and persuasive perspective, even if you disagree, it will lead to a higher evaluation. If you cite information or data, be sure to indicate the source. There is no strict word count requirement, but as a guideline, each assignment (which includes several questions) should be approximately 1-2 pages, A4 size.

Individual assignments will be given for Chapters 1, 2, 4, and 5. The assignment for Chapter 1 is worth 5% of the total grade, for Chapters 2 and 4, each assignment is worth 10%, and the assignment for Chapter 5 is worth 15%, making a total of 40%.

Additionally, there are two group work assignments. The assignment for Chapter 3 accounts for 15% of the total grade, and the assignment for Chapter 7 accounts for 20%. All group members will receive the same grade, totaling 35%.

The final grade will be based on these components, with the top 1/6 of students receiving an A, the next 1/3 receiving a B, the following 1/3 receiving a C, and the bottom 1/6 receiving a D or below.
If fewer than ten students register, the grading distribution mentioned above will not be applied.
必読書籍 None.
参考書籍 At the end of each chapter, the relevant references will be introduced..
